Ed joined Customized in 2006 and currently serves as Vice President, Distributed Market Integration, where his focus is on integration of distributed energy resources, energy storage, retail electricity supply, and demand response. He has worked with numerous clients and stakeholders across all business lines to help them understand economics, market potential, and operation of the various applications. Specific projects and areas of focus include California’s Demand Response Auction Mechanism and Proxy Demand Resource participation, Massachusetts’ State of Charge report, ISO demand response programs, behind the meter resource participation models, electric vehicle grid integration, microgrid analysis, and net energy metering.
Ed has over 20 years experience in the electricity industry—mostly in deregulated markets. Prior to joining Customized, Ed was a vice president with Constellation NewEnergy, where he ran the company’s Mid-Atlantic regional business and oversaw Customer Acquisition Operations and Market Operations.
Ed has spoken at numerous conferences on the integration of distributed energy resources and retail electricity supply and distributed energy resource participation in energy markets. Conferences include Energy Storage Association, Energy Storage North America, DNV/GL Executive Forum, and Energy Marketing Conference.
Ed holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters of Business Administration from Drexel University.
